History #2

There are several ways to which we can establish the New Testament as factual. First of all the number of historical copies is incredibly high, and also history supports it geographically. Although we cannot prove the miracles happened we can prove that people and places in the New Testament did indeed exist and are completely factual. There have been countless attempts throughout history to de legitimize the New Testament and they have all been proven false. Although you cannot argue miracles and that is a thing of faith, we can prove the historical and geographical truth of the bible, and also the fact that it has more than likely been translated near perfectly due to the number of copies attained.

History 1

The fact that history can be a little bit subjective is true. There will always be two different sides on recording much of history, but this does not make it any less true it just shows the differing perspective on the events in history. It often actually gives us more context into the thinking and culture of the time when it captures the emotion and perspective of the victor. But the fact is that history is taken down by so many people and passed down in so many different ways that you cannot discredit major events in history. Yes throughout time some events have been poorely translated but you cannot discredit all of history when for the most part events have been observed by many people. The idea that history has just been recorded by the winners is very false, it has been written down by the winners and losers, and they both will have biases but this does not make it false, just shows different perspectives. And therefore history should not be discredited and is still clearly vital to society and education.

Socialism not working

There are several reasons why socialism is very in effective. First of all socialism would implicate that everyone would make the same amount of money and own the same amount of property, this is ridiculous because there are skill jobs and people would not want to take 8 years to become a doctor if you make as much as a janitor. Also there would be a loss of pride in your craft, because the laziest and and the hardest working person would make the same amount of money with no reward for hard work. The other problem with socialism is it grants the government to much power and as long as human greed exists than there will always be those in power searching for greater power and wealth than the others. It would take a perfect government system and ruler for this to work and it is completely impossible for this to happen.

Mr Dyck Earth day

To respond to these statements in a biblical manner I would say this. To there views that we should not in any way interfere with the earth, and that any animal plant and any part of mother nature should not be disturbed by us is simply ridiculous. In reality we are another part of the life cycle just as every other organism and also we believe that God put animals and plants on this earth for us to eat, and use to maintain our bodies. I do agree with the fact that we should respect the earth and not un neccesarily damage it because it is God's creation and we should not disrespect his creation. But the fact is that we believe that nature is here for our benefit and there is nothing wrong with eating animals and interacting with nature, just we must strive to do it in a respectful manner to glorify God.

Economics #1

The argument that I would like to object to is his statement that Socialism is christianity and islam and every religion and that Marx said the same things as Jesus. The fact is that Jesus did say to help the poor does not in any way implicate Marx's beliefs that every person should own the same assets and there should be no wealthy and poor. Throughout the bible there are poor people and rich people and Jesus talked about both of them and never said that having those classes were wrong, he simply said the more well endowed should help the less fortunate. Islam's beliefs are completely different than Marxism also because Islam believes that the Church should conquer the world for allah and that the Church should dominate the world. So although these statements sound good at first when one truely evaluates the actual beliefs of each of these worldviews it becomes clear that these are non sensical statements.

Politics Number 1

The ramifications of a global secular government is alot like what we see in Europe right now. First of all if the government is globally secular I dont think that there would be choice or freedom to religion. Also everything would be pro choice and there would be very little laws and everything would almost be relative. Actually the idea of a global secular government is scary because there would be no basis for them to set laws upon and it could become a very free lance and scary world. Ultimately this would be the end of the world and sex, drugs, and pleasure would be what drives the world and there would be no moral values to society. This is definitely a scary idea and I really hope I dont have to live to see it.

Politics #2 abortion

The argument that I would like to respond to is the idea that a girl who becomes pregnant is much less likely to be succesfull later in life and that having a baby severely hurts her chances of graduating college or high school. This is an argument that I have heard countless times from a lot of different people and I think that this is the way that most of my generation tries to justify abortion. Yet the fact is that although this may be true that cannot justify murder. At the end of the day abortion is killing a human being and you cannot justify killing a human being because it will cause a little adversity in the parents lifes. I know several girls who have both aborted and kept babys in high school and the fact is that its really not easy to have a child, but at the same time the government helps single moms, and you can do it. It will make your life more difficult but you made the conscious decision to have sex (for the most part) and therefore you have to own up to your actions. I think alot of the problems with my generation is people not understanding that their actions have consequences and abortion is just another way we dodge consequences. But regardless whatever your beliefs may be you cannot justify murder by saying that it will make someones life easier, it is a human life whether most recognize it or not.
