Biology 1
There are multiple reasons that the naturalistic view on how life began is flawed. First of all this is one of the most debated topics in the world and neither side will ever give any ground, yet the Christian worldview has many more points that break down the naturalistic world view than the other way around. First of all the naturalistic view that life can be created from non life is impossible, this cannot be replicated and is impossible! Also the second law of thermodynamics states that over time species tend to go from order to non order, which really hurts the evolutionary theory. And finally there is no evidence to prove that any animal can change species, there is no way that a lizard can become an elephant and it will never be proven. Also the tremendous gap in fossil records can almost prove that there are no in between points for species which is a claim that evolutionists cling to.

Ethics Number 2
There are several ways you could respond to the statement that there are no moral absolutes. First you could state several horrors in the world and ask if you think that they would be ok in any circumstance. Because I cannot see any situation in which violent rape, or murder of an innocent person is ever justifyable. You could also punch the person in the face. And then just say "hey it wasnt wrong in my point of view, or just steal from them". I mean no moral relativist would say it is ok to murder and rape there family. If this is too strong for someone then you could also say that the statement that there are no moral absolutes is an absolute statement, therefore contradicting itself. And finally you could say that we all have a conscience for actions and that moral absolutes are what govern are world and what separate humans from animals. You cannot say there are no moral absolutes because it doesnt accurately portray society in any way. It is a statement that contradicts itself and at its roots makes no sense.

Karma UTT blog
Karma cannot be the universal standard of right and wrong for several reasons. First of all since Karma does not distinguish between actions and what is evil, how do we know what is right and wrong? And also if there is a natural right and wrong then there must be a sort of universal truth, which Hinduism and Karmeic followers deny. Therefore we cannot judge peoples actions as right in wrong unless there is a distinguishment between what is good and evil, which karma does not define."The theory of karma harps on the Newtonian principle that every action produces an equal and opposite reaction", this is honestly a ridiculous idea considering that many terrible people continue living happy lives on earth. The other problem with Karma is that it would create a separation of people because you would not want to help the less fortunate, since they are just taking the reprocutions of their actions. So in summation Karma doesnt work because it does not accurately portray the world that is, and it cannot define good and evil, and why we sin, and it also creates a very cold and harsh perspective towards the less fortunate.

Philosophy Number 3
Naturalism does not explain truth reality and knowledge at all. Since everything is a matter of chance it would not explain or consciousness or our souls. It also would state that everything we have mentally is just simple chemical reaction it cannot explain our knowledge or ability to think at all. Also since everything is just chemical chance we cannot know what reality is and also there can be no truth because it is just chemical and what we percieve. Therefore I feel that naturalism can have no moral absolutes. Therefore I dont think naturalism works as a philosophy because it doesnt accurately explain truth, reality or knowledge.

Philosophy blog 2
The differences between naturalism and dialectical materialsm are what they imply. In essence dialectical materialism is a lenninist-marxist approach to the world which gives you a guideline to make society better, while naturalism says there are no rights or wrongs and only truths to people at those certain situations. Although they are somewhat similar and both are forms of atheism they differ at a few points. Dialectical materialism believes that in everything there is a thesis and an antithesis, which collide to form a new idea. This is a never ending chain which they believe is how the world works. While naturalism simply believes in the idea of constant evolution. They follow very darwinistic beliefs and believe in survival of the fittest, they would also believe in Karma and the ideas of past lifes. The main difference which I see between the two is that one looks to science and depends upon what we can know scientifically as truth, while the other just believes in a constantly changing world due to collision of view points. This was very difficult for me to write on and understand but I think I got what I was trying to say through.

Philosophy 1 Mr.Dyck assignment
Naturalism is described as "nature, as gradually discovered by our intelligence using the tools of experience, reason, and science". It believes that everything we believe is within a box and there is no supernatural world. The problems that can be posed with naturalism as far as reality goes is that no reality is real and that it is just everyones chemicals in there brains. Also they cant explain anything outside the realm of science, so any supernatural thought or our own minds cant be explained accurately at all. It also cannot describe any type of truth. Because it says that we all should follow nature and our own human nature. So it cannot give us any real intepretation on society as how it is. Also there can be no knowledge but just chemicals reacting in the brain. So everything we think we know is simply product of chemicals. So naturalism in no way can describe accurately the world around us, our brains minds and counsciousness and also cannot give any type of example of any sort of truth. So naturalism in no way can accurately describe the world that is which makes it sort of a joke to me. They worship science as god and then claim all religion is god.

God a human invention Theology Number 2
The idea that God is a human invention is easily refuted. As C.S. Lewis stated " If the whole universe has no meaning we sould never found out that it has no meaning; just as, if there were no light in the universe and therefore no creatures with eyes, we should never know it was dark. This quote also works for the God argument. If there were actually no God then we should never know the idea of God or how God could exist. I will admit that it is in human nature to try and convince ourselves that we are more important than we are. Yet if there were no God and no true faith would every man not worship himself, or idols? How would we find the idea of a true all knowing God, and also how can you explain the survival of the bible and our faith. Also if there were no God and no meaning we would all be a product of chance and therefore there would be no moral absolutes, truths or laws. So someone who carries this view literally can have no idea of right and wrong outside of what society teaches. It is like saying Christianity is a crutch for the human mind and eventually we will evolve past the need for it, yet this is not true and never will be. Someone carrying this view shows alot of Marxist views similar to the "opiate of the masses" idea. Yet this view cannot be true because of so many people being willing to die and give there life's to this view. People are not willing to die for something that is imaginary. So there must be something there. I could speak on this subject for hours and there are many many points which make this argument obsolete.

3 Responses to video
The first main re-occuring point that they made throughout this video that I'd like to refute is that we have endless eternal lifes and are the all. This is completely ridiculous to me, although the video does have some points that I do not have answers too, much of it is pure nonsense. Like the idea that we all contribute to the ALL, and that we are the all, this gives no insite to the origin of man, creation of the earth and many other theological issues. It is also incredible to me that he can claim we are eternal and yet have nobody in this world who has true insite to their past life. If we are all learning always, then why must we re-learn to walk, talk and do everything we would have known how to do in a past life. Also this video would claim that a fly or any inanimate object is the all, so a fly is an intellegent being, or a dog turd is re-incarnated. That is completely ridiculous to me. How can someone actually believe that everything is simply a god? That point is just too off the wall for me to understand on any level.
Also they believe we are the all, yet we cannot understand the all. The idea of not understanding what we are is ridiculous. Would the truth not be attainable at some point? How can there be an ultimate truth that we can never attain. It just completely contradicts itself. Also how can you believe that a world that is perfectly balanced, and this complex is not created. They believe that everything is a product of chance. And also if we are all part of a never ending tree, then what happens to our bodies when we die? Do we just turn into an eternal blob or join some force. There are no points in this view that are reasonable to me. It seems like a total stoner religion, and is just weird to me. Alot of it was so off the wall it went over my head, but its difficult for me to believe someone can trust this stuff. But they can.... Just read the comments. I read most of them and it still makes no sense to me.

share your faith with your friends Assignment 2
To be an effective witness to a friend there is alot of factors that you have to contemplate. You have to look at their background, current worldview and situation they are currently in. But above all to effectively portray your religion and beliefs I think that you have to try not to offend them. Now this certainly does not mean dont disagree with them, just do so in a respectful manner. Also you need to explain why you believe what you do and back your beliefs with solid evidence and logic. Tell them fact, dont make it seem as if you are telling them a fiction story. And above all just keep a calm cool demeanor about yourself, remember that when you are talking about these subjects that you are not just representing yourself but Christianity as a whole, and for that reason try your hardest not to be a confrontational, overbearing Christian.
So just start with what you believe, why you believe it and what makes you think this way. If you disagree handle it in a calm manner and tell them why you disagree. So for me the biggest part of sharing your faith with your friends is just to remain a respectful and caring Christian and not an overbearing and repulsive person. And if they refuse to listen you cannot force them to.

Mr.Dyck UTT assignment number one
A world view as stated by the American Social Science Society is " a mental model of reality — a framework of ideas & attitudes about the world, ourselves, and life, a comprehensive system of beliefs — with answers for a wide range of questions". The fact is that everyone has a worldview, whether they know what that is or not. To every person a worldview can be defined in a different way, the way I personally choose to think about it is as a lense from which that person view the world. Your worldview is affected by everything you are exposed to whether it be religous perspective, region you are from or intellectual back ground. So regardless of whether someone is aware of it everyone has a worldview and a lense through which they view the world.
To develop a stronger Christian worldview there is alot that we can do as educated adults. First of all I believe that the society that we are raised in shares many Christian view points, whether it be that stealing, murder are bad. Or even how as a society we frown on adultery, criminals and those who break alot of Christian moral values. Yet most of these are just univerally viewed as bad, and many people look at Christianity as just this simple, dont do bad things, obey the law and youll go to heaven. But for us to truly have a Christian worldview we have to truly have a relationship with Christ and in every situation look to act and do what Christ would do. We also have to understand what we believe and why we believe it, because under any circumstance if you are truly invested in what you believe and understand why you believe it then you are much more likely to act out what you believe. But if you dont understand why you believe something it is much easyer to be swayed in your opinions and actions. So in summation I believe to develop a Christian viewpoint we have to understand what we believe and study the bible.;

Mere Chrisianity Question 30
The idea that pride is the worst of all sins is a very complex and confusing thought. Because we as Christians all know not to steal, curse, murder and that we are supposed to try and do our best. But one thing that we as Christians can do without ever noticing is become overly confident and prideful. So I completely agree with the statment that pride is the worst of all sins. Simply because of the other habits and sin that it ultimately leads us to. Pride is the reason that Lucifer fell, the reason that Eve ate the apple and the reason that so many "Christians" reject how much they really need Christ. It leads us to believe that we are fine on our own and do not need Christ. And in some cases such as Eve and the apple or Satans fall that we can be as powerful as God or no longer need him at all.
At first I really battled with this concept of pride simply because of competetive nature. Because if we have no pride in what we do, and show no pride while in competition we will never be succesfull. So in that sense everyone has to have a sense of self pride, an idea of competitiveness to be able to compete in athletic and work environments. Yet at the same time it is important for us as Christians to keep our sense of pride in check, and realize that under every circumstance God is vastly more powerful than us. I do think that pride is the worst sin simply because it can take you away from God and lead you down the wrong path to much worse sins. Yet at the same time as people in real life working situations we need to have some pride in ourselves just in a different way. Not to have a proud mindset in life for our accomplishments but to have a competitive nature in everything we do.
